These rules govern all labor and service work performed by HRC Performance, Huntington Beach, CA, and are applied consistently to every quote and invoice.
In short: Labor is billed at $125/hr. Custom fabrication and coatings are $175/hr. A two-hour minimum applies. A 20% labor deposit is collected at checkout. Final labor is based on actual time.
Labor rates
- Standard shop labor — $125/hr: general installs, non-fab engine work, diagnostics, quote-based installs.
- Custom / fabrication / coatings — $175/hr: welding, custom exhaust, brackets/mounts, Cerakote/powder/specialty finishes, one-off work.
Minimum billable time
A 2.0-hour minimum applies to all labor (diagnostics, quote installs, custom/fab, dyno/tuning).
Labor deposit
A 20% labor deposit is collected at checkout. Parts are paid 100% upfront. The remaining 80% of labor is due at completion / before vehicle release. Deposit = max(estimated hours, 2.0) × rate × 20%.
Shop supply fee
5% of labor, capped at $75 per job (fluids, hardware, sealants, abrasives, consumables). Always itemized.
Diagnostics
$125/hr, 2-hour minimum. Diagnostic time is credited toward final labor if you proceed with the work.
Dyno & tuning
Dyno tuning is $175/hr; dyno pull-only is a flat rate. 2-hour minimum. Billed as a separate line item unless bundled.
Rush / after-hours
1.5× labor (Standard $187.50/hr; Custom $262.50/hr). Requires manager approval, is disclosed in the quote/invoice, and is never automatic.
Storage fees
Vehicles must be picked up within 48 hours of the completion notice. $75/day thereafter (including weekends and holidays), payable before release. HRC is not responsible for loss or damage beyond 30 days.
Abandoned vehicle
A vehicle unpaid 30 days after completion, with an unresponsive customer, is subject to a mechanic's lien, storage fees, and legal remedies under California law. Recovery and lien costs are the customer's responsibility.
Vehicle release
A vehicle is not released until the full balance plus any storage fees are paid and all approvals are complete. We accept card, PayPal, or approved financing.
