These are precision bored, so they do not need line honing or machining after they go in. Steel backing for support, a cast copper-lead alloy centre for load capacity, a nickel dam for chemical stability against modern oil packages, and an electroplated babbitt overlay that lets the set conform and embed rather than score a journal.
